Before you begin to resolve the error, make sure you have installed the latest versions of the following programs:
- Skype (download it here)
- Internet Explorer (for Windows XP use IE8, for Windows Vista — IE9, for Windows 7, 8 or 10 — IE11)
If you already have installed all updates, but the error is still present, you can fix it as follows:
- Download Reset_Settings_For_Skype.HTA application and run it
- Choose your Skype login from the list

Check the boxes next to the following options:
- Skype settings
- User preferences
- Hosts File
- Internet Explorer
- Click the «Perform» button
- In the «Reset Internet Explorer Settings» dialog box, click «Reset»
- Run Skype
If this method did not help, check access to Skype and make sure that there are no connection errors. If there are no errors, you can try to reinstall Skype:
- First of all, you should to uninstall Skype
- Then download and install last version of Skype
ps. As a temporary solution, you can try to install an older version of Skype (for example, try 7.14.0.106).
