The new version of Skype for Windows became available and certainly will please many users. Firstly, the owners of gaming headsets Razer Kraken, which recently ceased to hear the other party during a call. Secondly, people who have experienced a large number of running SkypeBrowserHost.exe processes. And third, those who have long been dreaming of re-transmit their computer sounds to contacts during a call (the truth is this function is not available yet for all users).

It is worth mentioning that Skype 7.33.0.104 for Windows adds a new system requirement — mandatory availability of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable package. In connection to this, if this package isn’t installed on the system installation or update of Skype will take longer than usual because Skype downloads and installs it automatically. So do not be alarmed that the inscription “Installing Skype: process can take several minutes to” hanging too long.

%appdata%\Skype are created a separate file shared.xml for each account (for example, shared-000.xml, shared-001.xml, shared-002.xml and so on). This means that is not excluded that developers will return back automatic authentication when using multiple Skype simultaneously.

Up until this version Skype used to work perfectly fine and was lighter on resource.

So I've noticed the last 2 times I checked 2 different Skype accounts of mine, that the previous IMing threads are gone.
All my IMs from me to a person (one of them was even to myself) are gone. I scroll up & only a small amount of IMs are there :(
I REALLY need all my IMs back, so they've clearly done something to them since this last update as I didn't have this problem several weeks ago.

+1207), # ↑In regards to your problem, first you should know that Skype keeps conversation history locally and on the cloud. As rule, Skype loads and show local history, and in this cases, you see all messages. When Skype cannot find the local history, it downloads conversation history from the cloud but in these cases, you see messages only for last 30 days.
Therefore, if you see messages up to 30 days, it means that local history was lost from device (as rule, it happens when reinstalling OS, uninstalling Skype using uninstallation tools that remove all “leftovers”, removing history manually or disabling it). Of course, Skype does not shows old history if you never log in before to Skype on current device.
I could be wrong, but version 7.33.0.104 shows history properly (at least it allows me to see messages older than 30 days).
