Recently was released the new version of Skype for Windows, and it can be considered as complete release even though it has beta state. The first change of the 5.7 version lies at the very beginning – the installer design has been finally updated, last time it was changed in version 4.0 (2009). After the installation, you'll see a slightly refreshed authorization form that was completely redesigned just a few versions ago. This time is has not so much new: a large Skype icon has been replaced with the less flashy Skype logo, the main background color was altered to blue, and the “Start Skype when computer starts” checkbox gone forever. Out of the authorization form only of course: this option is still available in the main Skype options window.
What about Skype 5.7.0.123 for Windows, the developers fixed a set of issues, mainly related to Facebook calling. Early version of Skype 5.7 beta contains a lot of problems reported by users, so the current release is much more stable. Also, the developers remind us to leave our wishes, suggestions, or issues about Skype on the Skype Support Network that was launched at the beginning of this year.
